Designed with a health-first mindset in all aspects, the new global headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Manhattan demonstrates that it is possible to achieve both excellent indoor air quality and address sustainability goals that reduce the planet’s impact. This building sets new standards of excellence for healthy buildings in New York City and around the world.
JPMorgan Chase and renowned architect Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners worked closely with 9F to create a distinctive workplace offering by optimizing sustainability, health, wellness, hospitality, and user experience. As strategic advisors behind the innovative new building, 9F drives innovation through real-time IAQ monitoring and advanced data analytics, health-based ventilation and filtration strategies, design guidelines, and workplace user experience optimization. Our long-term partnership with JPMorgan Chase extends beyond individual projects to deliver comprehensive solutions across their entire portfolio of buildings.
Salesforce:
High-rise Health
Managing indoor air quality in a towering skyscraper during a pandemic is no small feat. 9 Foundations guided Salesforce across its portfolio, including its headquarters, implementing risk reduction strategies that enhanced building operations and indoor air quality for occupants. Our work not only helped maintain healthy and productive workspaces, but it also demonstrates our expertise in managing complex building environments.

Holistic Headquarters
Leading the healthy building strategy for Pfizer’s new headquarters was a significant undertaking. 9 Foundations conducted on-site assessments, developed detailed plans, and integrated expertise from Harvard University’s Center for Healthy Buildings to ensure that the new headquarters would set a new standard for health and well-being.
Notably, this project also aligned with Pfizer’s core company values as a public health and healthcare leader, reinforcing their dedication to health through their products and workplace environment. This project represents our holistic approach to creating spaces that prioritize both human health and company values.
Carrier:
Setting the Standard for Ventilation
The Carrier Center for Intelligent Buildings stands as a testament to 9F’s dedication to exceptional indoor air quality and high ventilation rates. The design support was informed by Carrier’s Cognitive Function (CogFx) Study from Harvard University and based on 9F CEO Dr. Joe Allen’s book “Healthy Buildings.” The building aims to create a model for future projects, demonstrating that high ventilation, healthy materials, and research-backed design are desirable and achievable.
Nike:
Ensuring Worker Well-being
9F’s engagement with Nike focused on comprehensive indoor air quality (IAQ) and healthy workplace controls, worker health and safety initiatives, advising leadership on Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and risk management and supporting the return to office across their global headquarters campus. We’ve provided ongoing advice and support, ensuring that the environment supports the well-being of Nike teammates. This support showcases our commitment to sustained environmental health and safety initiatives, providing a comprehensive solution covering all indoor environmental quality aspects.
Amazon:
Optimizing for Excellence
9F is a strategic advisor to Amazon, and we’ve collaborated on the launch of Amazon’s global indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring program. The program leverages 9F’s patented H.E.A.A.L. IAQ analytics system to turn incoming data streams into actionable insights. It includes the deployment of air quality sensors across Amazon’s global corporate portfolio and guidelines on appropriate actions in response to IAQ alerts, including targeted support during wildfire events. Our partnership encompasses Amazon’s global corporate portfolio, including its Virginia headquarters, which was featured in a segment on 60 Minutes with 9F discussing the technologies.
Beacon Capital Partners:
Optimizing for Health and Resilience
Beacon Capital Partners recognizes the important role that buildings play in influencing the health and well-being of occupants. Since early 2020, Beacon has collaborated with 9F to integrate science-based, healthy building practices into its business model.
9F’s Healthy Buildings Optimization Program is designed to support Beacon’s objectives for creating high-performing assets. This program offers differentiation and excellence in the healthy buildings space, and is based on scientific evidence, expert validation, tailored support, and continuous improvement. This collaboration also contributes to Beacon’s broader ESG+R (Environmental, Social, Governance, and Resilience) strategy across its portfolio, which is focused on engaging tenants and protecting and future-proofing investments.
The optimizations made for Beacon’s 53 State Street in Boston, the first building to earn the Healthy Buildings Optimization Program Shield, were featured in a 60 Minutes segment on airborne transmission.

Boston Symphony Orchestra:
Harmony in Health
9F partnered with the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) to enhance indoor air quality at Symphony Hall and Tanglewood Music Center. Early in the pandemic, we facilitated the safe return of musicians by improving ventilation and filtration systems to meet higher clean air targets. Post-pandemic, we advised on the design of the HVAC systems at Tanglewood’s Linde Center to ensure it met stringent health-focused clean air targets. We also developed wildfire protocols, enhancing the campus’s climate resilience.
AMC Theatres:
Experiencing the Cinema
When the movie industry faced unprecedented challenges during the pandemic, 9F played a vital role in keeping the silver screen shining. Working closely with AMC Theaters, we implemented strategies to improve indoor air quality, creating safer environments for moviegoers. Our ability to respond quickly and effectively to urgent needs helped ensure that the magic of cinema could continue safely, bringing the movie experience to millions.

Paramount/CBS:
A Healthy Production
9F advised Paramount Studios’ C-suite on IAQ, evaluating technology, reviewing risk mitigation protocols and specific buildings/sets for control measures, and discussing testing at buildings like Paramount Studios Hollywood and the iconic Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City. 9F also worked to ensure the health and safety of cast and crew on the set of shows like “Billions” and “The Colbert Show” during the pandemic.
